A picture paints a thousand words...

Pomapoos, cougars and vampires, oh my!

It has been a reeeeallly long time since I posted and I have so much to talk about!...

First of all, our little baby girl turned one year old on November 4th! I can't believe we've had her for almost a year. She's definitely added a whole new dimension to our lives. Everyone says it is great training for kids, and while I don't know first hand, I'm pretty sure they're right. Potty training lasted FOREVER, supposedly poodle mixes are quick learners, but I beg to differ.
This Saturday was Apple Cup. My Mom came into town with some of her friends so I invited her to come sit with me so Nate could go help down on the field, and he did not object :) The first half of the game was a little slow. The huskies scored first, which was not surprising but still a little disheartening. Things didn't start to get interesting until the very end of the fourth quarter. The score was 10 - 7 in the huskies favor when Lopina threw a 60 something yard pass to put us in field goal range, which we made to tie the game! Two overtimes later, the game was in our hands after a field goal... the huskies could have had it if they had made just one of their 3 field goal attempts, but they didn't :) I love beating them!!! The huskies are still the only winless team in the entire country, talk about icing on the cake!
On Sunday, Nate took me to see Twilight. I am sooo not the monster/sci-fi/anything remotely scary type, but I am obsessed with these books. The movie was great, I was very happy with the cast they picked, but movie versions of books never completely satisfy... especially when you know there's more to come! My palms got pretty clammy during the intense make-out scene... for those of you who have not read the book, Bella and Edward do not fornicate because he could hurt her with his super-vampire strength, much to my dismay. I love a steamy love scene, but the make-out scene was still pretty hot! Alright, enough of that :)
On and end note, I cannot wait to put up our Christmas decorations. Since this is our first Christmas together, we had to stock up on some new decor. We went to Spokane to register for wedding gifts a couple weekends ago, and while we were at Home Depot, we loaded up on Christmas stuff too. If you are looking for a good deal on some really cute stuff, that is the place to go. I'll post some pictures after we get everything set up, can't wait!

A surprise in my car...

So, I'm running a little late for work this morning so I just hop into my car without really checking out my surroundings first, which I usually do because I'm paranoid. Anyway, I get in, toss my purse in the passenger seat, click on my seatbelt, and am about slip the key in the ignition when I hear this faint little "meeooow". Confused, I turn around and all of a sudden there is this HUGE orange cat sitting by me on top of my beverage holders! Panicked, I screamed bloody murder at the top of my lungs and lurched myself out of the car leaving all of my personal belongings, except for my phone, behind. The cat jumped out right after me and ran off, his ears probably ringing. Not sure why I still had my phone in my hand, but I quickly dialed Nate and asked "did you put a freaking cat in my car this morning?!" He was "like, ummmm, no, why was there a cat in your car?" Anyway, after much stipulation, we figured that the cat must have jumped in while we were unloading groceries on Sunday morning. There are about 4-5 neighborhood cats that linger around the house all the time, I guess I shouldn't have been that scared but he was just there all of a sudden! I wouldn't be surprised if I show up on America's Funniest Home Videos... I'm sure I looked absoulutely ridiculous.

I've been a very bad blogger...

I'm fairly certain that my dear friend Kristen is the only one who ever checks my blog, but this is no excuse for my lack of up-keep! I am going to try much harder to post at least once a week from now on... and even inlcude a picture or two every now and then.

For now, I would like to acknowledge some things I am thankful for in my life. Lately, I have been hearing way too many stories about people my age getting cancer. It makes me sick to my stomach, it just doesn't seem fair at any age, but it makes me realize how much more life I hope to live. Unfortunately, it is situations like this that make me sit back and really think about how blessed I am to live the life I do. It is so easy to get caught up in stupid things like how bummed I am that I have to do things like pay bills or get up early and go to work in the morning. In reality I should be so lucky to have a job that allows me to pay the bills that keep me fed, sheltered, and happy. Here are a couple things I hope to never take for granted...

my future husband who makes me coffee almost every morning!
my loving, and soon to be HUGE, family
my friends... I seriously have the best in the world
my relationship with God, even though that could always use a little more work on my end ;)
my right to vote... still deciding on that one though, don't judge!
my health
our huge wedding guest list... while it is a pain to try and cut down to a budget-friendly number, we have never felt so loved
Pullman... yes, Pullman.

I know there's more, but it's the end of the day and my brainstorming skills are limited.

We're off!

Nate, Penny and I are going on our first family mini vaca to Seattle this weekend! We are stopping in Wenatchee on Thursday night to visit my Dad and Kim, Dad is really excited about having Penny in his nice, clean house :) On Friday morning, we will leave to stay with our wonderful friends Nick and Kristen! They are throwing us an engagement party on Saturday and we couldn't be more excited/thankful! Nate hasn't been to Seattle since he moved me to Pullman, so he can't wait. I will post some pictures when we get back!

Here we go...

Well, I have decided to jump on the blogging bandwagon! There are some exciting things coming up in our lives and I wanted a way to share them with our favorite people. I'm still figuring this whole thing out, so it might be a little while before it gets interesting, but keep checking back!
